Today we’re chatting with @eminakovacic about her passion for architecture and its influence on our day to day lives. She has a keen eye for lines, patterns and details, which shines through in her intriguing and often geometric photos. Read on to learn more about this delightful dame.

Hi Emina! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?:

I’m Emina, a 43 year old woman living in Ronneby, Sweden. I am an architect and head of an urban planning unit. It keeps me very busy! I also love any kind of Mediterranean food.

How does being an architect affect your photographs?

Being an urban planner and an architect affects my photos in different ways, as my profession is both to look at details and at the same time be aware of things on a larger scale.I like exploring how light and shadows affect our urban landscapes and how architectural details transform our environment from one day to another.

I also like coming back to the same motive from time to time in order to see something different next time as I believe that we all are part of an ongoing process of renewal. I love discovering patterns and textures in unexpected contexts.

What is the most funny, random, surprising thing that ever happened to you?

Life is a full off small surprises: I find it quite entertaining every time I get busted taking photo of some environment or situation that other people probably find strange or even “ugly” and an expression on their face when they look back at me.
